South Metro Atlanta’s Top Non-Surgical Orthopedic Expert

Welcome to Dr. Trevor Turner, MD

Dr. Trevor Turner is a board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician who specializes in minimally-invasive joint, cartilage, tendon and ligament damage treatment. Dr. Turner refined his techniques for PRP injections for over 4 years working with Dr. James Andrews, treating some of the most elite athletes and special operations personnel in the world. Dr. Turner believes that every patient deserves a physician who is driven to help them return to peak function and achieve their goals--whether it's winning the big game, accomplishing the mission, or delaying the need for a joint replacement.

While some physicians only offer orthobiologics instead of surgery, Dr. Turner also works in partnership with the surgical team at Georgia Bone & Joint, so that he can incorporate your PRP into your surgical treatment plan for better outcomes if necessary.

However, Dr. Turner also knows that a culture of excellence and lifelong wellness aren’t built on one procedure. After combining Orthobiologics with optimal recovery, Dr. Turner became adamant about closing the gap between rehab and maximizing human performance. As patients started to ask how they could optimize their cellular health, Precision Medical Fitness was born to provide VO2 Max testing and Precision Nutrition. With credentials from EXOS, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and CrossFit Level 1, Dr. Turner believes passionately that Exercise is Medicine, and that optimal treatment means preventing disease before it starts to reach our greatest potential. Having worked in 4 different countries in the developing world and having completed over 20 GoRuck events, Dr. Turner strives to help patients find meaning and purpose through shared sacrifice with their community.

 Frequently Asked Questions

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy is a natural, non-invasive treatment option for many types of orthopedic injuries and conditions. During a PRP session, you’ll have your blood drawn, then sent to the laboratory to be separated by a centrifuge. Then, that plasma will be reinjected at the site of the affected tissue or cartilage. This gives your body the natural boost it needs to stimulate the foundation for recovery, as well as reducing inflammation and providing relief from pain in the area.

PRP and other regenerative solutions can help treat a wide variety of orthopedic conditions and injuries in many different parts of the body. This includes the joints in the shoulders, elbows, hands, wrists, hips, knees, ankle, feet, and spine. To learn more about the specific conditions for which Dr. Turner recommends PRP therapies, be sure to read our service pages highlighting the specific part of the body you’d like to learn more about.

Prolotherapy can be used to relieve pain in the joints and ligaments by injecting a small, harmless amount of an irritating substance into the affected area. This irritant will cause a controlled type of inflammation in the area, and once this inflammation is reduced, your pain will be relieved, and your body’s natural healing process will be stimulated. If you’d like to learn more about prolotherapy, reach out to Dr. Turner today.

BMAC is a naturally-occurring part of your bone marrow used in one of Dr. Turner’s most recommended regenerative procedures. During this procedure, BMAC can be injected into a damaged or deteriorated joint in order to set the foundation for recovery in your bone and soft tissue. BMAC provides not only pain relief, but can significantly reduce the need for surgery over the long term for patients living with spine injuries, osteoarthritis of the joints, and more.

Dr. Turner’s partnership with Greyledge Biotech means that we don’t use an off-the-shelf medical device to prepare lower quality platelet rich plasma or bone marrow. Instead, we use a sterile processing laboratory and an experienced Greyledge technician onsite, allowing us to ensure the highest quality and collect data outcomes over time. This helps us to distinguish what is indicated and not indicated by your blood or bone marrow draw and provide a fully customized treatment experience.

Our use of a manual lab allows us to treat multiple sites in one procedure, distinguishing  us from our competitors by making PRP and receiving customized image-guided treatments based on the disease pattern. Dr. Turner understands that people need quality assurance when dealing with injuries, and he believes that understanding what they are receiving and the benefits of how it will help not only immediately, but long term, is important.

Dr. Turner and his team provide advanced treatments at an AAAHC accredited ambulatory surgery center, where patients can receive regional or general anaesthesia for specific cases. All interventions are guided by advanced ultrasound and fluoroscopy in order to ensure we are delivering your PRP or BMAC where it is needed most.
